We require a Design Engineer (Mechanical) to enable one of our customers in designing sub systems.
Responsibilities of the Design Engineer
- Design complex components and sub-systems for Mining Machine.
- Lead design reviews and resolve technical design conflicts.
- Assess buildability, manufacturability and integration
- Develop 3D model of machine designs in CAD environment
- Strong CAD Tool working Experience on Creo 2.0 with Part Modelling and detailing, welding
Sheet metal, Advance level Assembly Modules.
- Experience in handling large machine level assemblies and expertise in manufacturing drawings creation.
- Experience working with Hydraulics Line routing with Fluid Lines tool and Electrical harness routing in Creo Schematic.
- Understanding Siemens Team centre PLM for engineering release and change orders per establish engineering practices.
- Experience working as onsite liaison with ability to coordinate with multiple client engineering team and large offshore engineering team.
- Good communication skills both written and oral.
- Ability to guide engineering teams to achieve customer’s end goal to deliver quality designs on time.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar’s design standards and processes is a plus
Requirements of the Design Engineer
- Bachelor’s Degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum or equivalent preferred
- 5 years to 7 years of designing experience with Heavy Mining Machinery Equipment
- Experience with PLM Data Management tools and Creo CAD tools
